Volunteer Positions - Officials Clinics
Parents-
Every swim meet takes an army of volunteers to
operate. We use everyone to complete different tasks. Each meet we must
provide:
Scorers - keep track of the points and total
score
Referee - starts each event
Stroke and Turn Judges - watch the swimmers to
ensure strokes are performed officially
These are positions that require training
ahead of time which is run by Suburban Swim League (SSL). If these sound like
something you'd like to do to fulfill your volunteer commitment, please refer
to the Information below from SSL. All training via Zoom starting at 7pm. If
you are interested and able to attend, please email us - [email protected]. Please
let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!

- To
officiate at an SSL dual meet, time trials, and championships, the
official is required to have attended an SSL officials class in the
current season. Attendance at a previous year class or a lot of experience
outside of SSL does NOT qualify the official to work an SSL meet. - With
the change to SSL rules for 2023, for an official to work as the Referee
or Starter at an SSL meet, they must have attended a SSL Referee class in
2023. Officials who have attended a SSL Referee class can work as a
S&T Judge or as a Chief Judge. Officials can always work down, but not
up in a higher-level position. - All
classes begin at 7:00 PM with the exception of the Referee classes. There
are two parts of the Referee classes. From 6:30 to 7:00 PM, the class will
be for officials who will be Refereeing for the first time. Starting at
7:00 PM, the class will be for both officials who have refereed previously
and those who attended from 6:30 to 7:00 PM.
